Area Overview

The City East part of London encompasses the eastern fringe of the City and parts of Tower Hamlets – Aldgate and St Katharine Docks (E1). Once deemed the outer limits of the City of London, regeneration has led to the commercial market bleed further east.

St Katharine docks is a former dock that is now a mixed-use area of central London, also situated in the Borough of Tower Hamlets. St Katharine’s docks were damaged during WWII, but the area now features housing, hotels, shops, restaurants, and offices after significant redevelopment.
