Cookie Policy

How we use cookies on Devono.com, what each one does, and how to opt out.

Last updated: August 2026

01What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded onto your computer when you visit our website and allows us to recognise you as a user. Typically, these contain two pieces of information: a site name and unique user ID. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymous.

02How we use cookies

At DeVono, we use cookies to allow us to personalise your visits to this site, keep track of your preferences and learn about the way you use the site.

At DeVono, cookies are used to identify the pages that are used when you visit the site, to allow us to tailor your experience to suit your needs.

03Your choices

We require you to accept or decline certain cookies by accepting or declining our Cookie Consent Notice when first accessing our website. By accepting and using our websites you consent to our use of cookies as updated from time to time and the cookies we use will be stored on your device (unless this functionality is rejected or disabled by your browser). You may access our Cookie Consent Notice to decline cookies at any time subsequently.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. Refusing, or later withdrawing, is as easy as agreeing and costs you nothing on the site — no part of Devono.com is withheld from anyone who declines.

Additionally, you may delete and block all cookies from any website, within your web browser settings if necessary. Please be aware that restricting or deleting cookies will impact on the functionality of the site.

04Non-essential cookies

Devono.com sets no cookies of its own. Every cookie described below belongs to one of the third parties listed here, and none of them is set unless you have agreed to the category it falls under.

These are delivered through Google Tag Manager, which is a container rather than a cookie: it stores nothing itself, and it is not loaded at all until you have given permission.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_RJTKYB3R32) tells us which pages and listings people use, so we can improve them. It is reported in aggregate. These cookies are stored for up to two years.

Hotjar (_hjSessionUser, _hjSession) records how visitors move, scroll and click, and lets us replay a visit to see where the site was confusing. Recordings are of the page, not of you: typed input is masked before it leaves your browser. The session cookie lasts 30 minutes and the visitor cookie up to 12 months.

Advertising

Google Ads (_gcl_au) lets us see which adverts led to an enquiry, so we can spend the budget where it works. Stored for up to 90 days.

Meta, formerly Facebook (_fbp), measures whether an advert on Facebook or Instagram led to an enquiry, and allows us to show Devono adverts to people who have visited the site. Stored for up to 90 days.

LinkedIn Insight does the same for adverts on LinkedIn. Stored for up to 30 days for the browser identifier, and up to six months for the analytics identifier.

Microsoft Advertising, also called Bing Ads (_uetsid, _uetvid), measures adverts shown on Bing. Stored for one day and up to 13 months respectively.

Ruler Analytics (__rafm and related) connects an enquiry back to the marketing that produced it. Stored for up to 12 months.

These vendors receive data about your visit and can combine it with data they hold from other sites. That is why they sit behind the advertising category and are switched off until you turn them on.

05How long cookies are stored

How long each cookie lasts is listed with it above, and ranges from a single day to two years. Whatever the stated period, a cookie is removed sooner if you clear your browser data or withdraw your permission.

Your choice itself is stored on your device rather than in a cookie, together with the date you made it. It is kept until you change it, and is asked for again if the list of companies above changes.

06Other scripts

Two further scripts run on the site and are worth naming, though neither is advertising.

Maps

Property pages embed a Google map so you can see where a building is. Loading it tells Google your IP address.

Performance monitoring

We measure how quickly pages load for real visitors, so we can fix the slow ones. This records timings and a first-visit marker on your device. It does not identify you and is not shared with advertisers.

07Opting out of cookies

Further information and how to opt out of cookies from Google is below.

Opting out does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising. It does mean that the NAI member company or companies from which you opted out will no longer customize ads based on your interests and web usage patterns using cookie-based technology.

When you visit our website, you can choose to accept or opt out of cookies via our Cookie Consent Notice.

08Further information

For more detail on how we collect and process personal information, please see our Privacy Notice.

If you have any queries regarding cookies or the use of your personal information, please get in touch directly by email at info@devono.com or by calling +44 (0)20 7096 9911.
